United, meanwhile, are in the last eight after one of the most surprising results in the Round of 16. Their dramatic 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes will live long in the memory.

So too will Ajax’s superb 4-1 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. The Dutch side have a very talented group of young players and are a serious threat to the teams left in the competition.

Tottenham are also capable of beating any team on their day and breezed past Borussia Dortmund to reach this stage of the Champions League, while FC Porto are the team that the other seven clubs would have been desperate to be paired with prior to the day.
