Barcelona are set to introduce a fourth kit next season.

According to Catalan-based publication Sport, the Blaugrana will wear a shirt inspired by Catalonia’s flag, the ‘Senyera’, designed ‘exclusively’ for playing against arch rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the 2019-20 campaign.

The shirt will also be worn during other big matches next season.

It has a very bold design. The base colour is yellow and four diagonal red lines are emblazoned across it.

“It represents a legendary image of Catalonia: that of Guifré el Pilós, considered the founder of Catalunya, passing over a golden shield his four bloody fingers after a battle, this being the inspiration of the Catalan flag,” Sport write.

The shirt will only be worn for huge occasions next season. Sport are quick to point out that it’s more than just a cash-grab; Barcelona’s board made the decision to create a fourth kit a long time ago.

There’s no doubt that it will be very popular in the Barcelona club stores.

Barcelona's fourth kit for 2019-20 season

Sport claim to already know how next season’s first, second and third kits will look as well.

The home shirt will be a revolutionary design that looks similar to that of the Croatian national team, just with Barcelona’s colours.

The away shirt will be yellow with a Barcelona stripe.

Meanwhile, they reference a leaked image from ‘Footy Headlines’ that could show the third kit.

Barcelona’s board want their players to look good while they’re pursuing trophies, obviously.

The current season is shaping into another successful one for Ernesto Valverde’s side.

The Blaugrana are heading towards another La Liga title - they hold a seven-point lead - and will play in the Copa del Rey final in May.

They’re also still in contention to win the Champions League, with Manchester United awaiting in the quarter-final.

If everything goes to plan, the sleeve of Barcelona’s ‘Senyera’ shirt will be highly decorated.
