Steven Gerrard has vowed to improve as a manager as his first season in charge of Rangers nears an end. There have been highs and lows at Ibrox this season. The 1-0 win over Celtic in December was a particular highlight, and the Bhoys are the only team above Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. But the Gers failed to get out of their Europa League group and exited the Scottish Cup at the hands of Aberdeen on Tuesday.Yet Gerrard has seen enough this season to be optimistic about the future.“I've picked myself back up and I can guarantee you that I will improve personally moving forward," he said, per BBC Sport."I'm well aware of the job I signed up for. I know after a few bad results pundits and keyboard wizards will always be there. That's fine.“Without a doubt we've moved forward, we've improved. Players that were here before have raised their game. Players that we've brought in, the majority, have stood up and done really well."

Sutton: Gerrard gets four out of 10

Gerrard’s words will please Rangers supporters but one man who isn’t convinced is Chris Sutton.

The former Celtic striker caused a stir on Saturday morning when he rated Gerrard’s season four out of 10.

“Honestly? Four,” Sutton said on BT Sport’s Saturday Sav programme.

"He's at a big club. He doesn't manage a mediocre Premier League English team.

"It's about winning trophies and they're not going to win any."

Host Robbie Savage was stunned by Sutton’s review.

So too was Dean Saunders, who gave Gerrard eight out of 10.

Savage caught up with Saunders backstage after the programme and both said Gerrard deserved a score of eight for his first season in management.

Sutton shared the clip on Twitter, adding: “I thought it was about winning trophies... I’ll change my mind if Rangers win the league…”

Top trolling, Chris…
