Paris Saint-Germain continued their surge to the Ligue 1 title after beating Marseille 3-1 at the Parc des Princes.

The game looked like it was going to go into half-time goalless, but Kylian Mbappe tucked home a pass from Angel di Maria in what was virtually the last touch of the first half.

PSG were not ahead for long; Valere Germain drawing the scores level just after the break.

But Di Maria would score twice in the second half, the second a beautiful free-kick, to give PSG the victory.

The Argentinian looked as if he had the opportunity to get his hat-trick late in stoppage time.

Mbappe drew a foul in the penalty area with a minute remaining.

With PSG 3-1 up and the game over, Di Maria wanted to take the spot-kick to get him his hat-trick.

But Mbappe wasn't having any of it.

Thomas Tuchel praised his side's mentality after going out in the Champions League to Manchester United.

“Everyone can feel that this team is united, they are always together, they give everything," he said in his post-match interview, per Goal.

Angel di Maria was brilliant v Marseille

“The team proves that she can react as a champion. The mentality is extraordinary. It's a great win in a big game.

“I know my team, if you lose a big match, we lost one, you have to accept that everyone is talking.

“We must be quiet, be calm. It's hard, I will always defend my team, the boys are incredible.”

Tuchel then praised Mbappe and Di Maria.

“Di Maria made an outstanding match,” he added.

“He has a lot of responsibilities because we miss a lot of key players. Kylian and he take their responsibilities."
