Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Juventus to the Champions League quarter-final with a stunning hat-trick last week.

Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Juve’s main man delivered three goals as the Old Lady completed a remarkable comeback.

Ronaldo has proven throughout his career that he thrives on the big stage, and at this point we shouldn’t really be surprised.

The 34-year-old is aiming to win his sixth Champions League trophy and few would bet against him doing so this year.

Juventus may not be the strongest side remaining in the competition but they know how to win football matches and have a player in Ronaldo who cherishes this stage.

The Portuguese superstar has played at an elite level for over a decade now, winning five Ballon d’Or awards along the way.

And when all is said and done, he has to be in the conversation for greatest player of all-time.

McGregor: Ronaldo is a phenomenal athlete

Ronaldo has earned the respect of millions around the world and among his fans is UFC star Conor McGregor.

The Irishman has heaped praise on Ronaldo, labelling him a “phenomenal athlete” following his hat-trick against Atletico Madrid.

“Cristiano is a phenomenal athlete, person, and entrepreneur,” McGregor told FIFA.

“His all-around discipline, perfectionist attitude, and dedication to his craft is inspiring and has inspired so many young children to play football.

“Just look what he did recently in the Champions League, at 34 years young, a hat-trick under the lights when the pressure was on for all the marbles.

“And against Atletico Madrid, one of the best defensive sides in Europe. That is inspiring!

“We are both disciplined athletes at the top of our game.”

Greatness recognises greatness.

Ronaldo is heading towards his first Serie A title with Juventus; Max Allegri's side have a 15 point lead at the top of the table.
