The domestic campaign for European football is reaching its final six weeks and we have seen the usual big names performing at an elite level.

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have been setting an example in their respective leagues while a certain Fabio Quagliarella has been proving that age is merely a number.

Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have both been performing well in the Premier League but have still missed out on making this list.

A lengthy injury can certainly affect the goals/minutes ratio, but as a whole it shows us which forwards have been hitting on all cylinders so far this campaign.

Many will be expected, however there are a few surprise packages.

Here are the top ten players for best goals/minutes ratio:

10) Krzysztof Piatek - goal every 114 minutes

The Pole started the season at Genoa before moving across to AC Milan, proving himself as a prolific scorer for both sides.

Piatek has 19 so far this term, showing plenty of pormise at just 23 years of age.

9) Fabio Quagliarella - goal every 111 minutes

Like a fine wine, Quagliarella is enjoying his best season goal-wise at the ripe age of 36.

The Sampdoria striker has bagged 21 goals this season and has even earned a recall to the Italian squad.

8 ) Sergio Aguero - goal every 107 minutes

You can always count on the Man City forward to score goals and this campaign has been no different.

Despite being 30-years-old, the Argentine is not showing signs of slowing down and is once again in contention for the Premier League Golden Boot with 18 goals so far.

7) Luka Jovic - goal every 107 minutes

This guy looks like the real deal. The 21-year-old Serb has been linked with various top Premier League sides and his performances for Eintracht Frankfurt this season justify the interest.

Fifteen goals shows he already has that lethal touch in front of goal.

6) Arkadiusz Milik - goal every 106 minutes

A striker who has been in Robert Lewandowski's shadow for far too long is finally starting to break out.

The tall Napoli striker has bagged 15 this season, more than his last two seasons combined and has given Polish fans hope that they have a worthy successor.

5) Neymar - goal every 87 minutes

Despite struggling with injuries and scoring the least amount in this list, the Brazilian still has an impressive goals/minutes ratio.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been at his usual influential best when he's actually been fit.

4) Edinson Cavani - goal every 76 minutes

Often overshadowed by his Brazilian teammates, Cavani has once again been a regular goalscorer for the French giants.

The Uruguayan has scored 17 times and due to having some injury problems himself, means his goals/minutes ratio looks even more impressive.

3) Lionel Messi - goal every 74 minutes

Any list that is created regarding attacking statistics, Lionel Messi is bound to feature in the top 3.

Messi is light years ahead in terms of goals scored with 29, but due to the Argentine playing every minute he is available, he doesn't quite get the top spot.

2) Kylian Mbappe - goal every 72 minutes

The boy wonder. Kylian Mbappe is definitely going to be Messi and Ronaldo's successor, the writing is on the wall.

The 20-year-old has scored 26 goals in 23 games and is only pipped by an unlikely Spaniard who has been on fire this season.

1) Paco Alcacer - goal every 62 minutes

The man that could have and probably should have replaced Luis Suarez at Barcelona.

Alcacer has been tearing the Bundesliga apart this season, notching 14 goals in 20 games and due to the fact that he has been substituted in the majority of his matches, sees his goals/minutes ratio topple all.

An unlikely winner, but a worthy one nonetheless.
