Deontay Wilder will be fighting Dominic Breazeale next after talks with Tyson Fury collapsed earlier in the month.A lot of speculation had been going around with regards to the long-awaited rematch between the Bronze Bomber and the Gypsy King. However, shortly after Fury announced his new ESPN deal, it was announced that the bout wouldn't be happening for a second time as Fury wanted a different fight in between the original and the rematch.Wilder vs Fury 2.0 was ordered by the WBC, only for nothing formal to come to fruition, which has now led to the American searching elsewhere for his next opponent. And, it appears that we have that answer as it has been confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday that he will be fighting Breazeale next on May 18 in New York.

As for Fury, it's unknown what will be next for him, but hopefully boxing fans will have another announcement in the not too distant future.

Anthony Joshua vs Jarrell Miller and now Deontay Wilder vs Dominic Breazeale. They may not be the ideal fights boxing fans wanted, but at least they have something to look forward to in 2019.

Wilder was reportedly offered a $100m three-fight deal with DAZN which would have included two encounters with Joshua but has instead decided to stick with Showtime.

There is certainly no love lost between Wilder and Breazeale, however, and they have already clashed in public before (see below) so we can expect plenty of fireworks at the press conferences too.

Spare a thought for a certain Dillian Whyte, who appears to be sitting on the sidelines with not much on his plate and still no idea on who he will be fighting next.
