It seems Barcelona could be making their second Dutch signing of 2019.
Just a matter of months after completing their deal for Frenkie de Jong, the Blaugrana are reportedly interested in signing his Ajax teammate Matthijs de Ligt.
If there was any doubting the current batch of talent at the Netherlands' biggest club, then that was resoundingly rebuffed by their incredible 4-1 win at Real Madrid.
De Ligt was a major part of their Champions League progress, too, ensuring a frontline including Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale were kept quiet at the Bernabeu.
The 19-year-old has already captained Ajax, accumulated 13 caps for his country and made almost 100 appearances in Eredivisie.

Excitement around De Ligt
As a result, he is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in the world and a number of top clubs have been linked with his signature.
Liverpool fans have been dreaming of De Ligt transferring his partnership with Virgil van Dijk to club football, while Real Madrid supporters would love him as Sergio Ramos' long-term successor.
However, it seems that Barcelona are now the leading candidates and a new report has claimed that the Spanish giants have already made a bid.
Barcelona make €60 million bid
Catalan publication Sport have revealed that Barcelona have made a €60 million bid, plus a number of variables for the Dutchman and a five-year contract similar to that of De Jong.
Sources close to the negotiations have said: 'The transfer is on track and the club are very optimistic, but nobody wants to assure anything until it’s signed.'
That optimism is reflected by the fact Barcelona are confident they can resolve the transfer within the next month.
De Ligt was previously unsure about a move to the Nou Camp when an approach was made in November, but it seems his teammate's departure has changed his stance.
Sport go on to explain: "After De Jong’s signing, De Ligt gave Barca some positive sensations and following the win over Madrid, he confirmed his total disposition to sign in the case of an economic agreement."
So, all steam ahead for Barcelona and the report seems very confident that De Ligt will be following his close friend to Catalunya in the summer.
If clubs like Juventus or Real Madrid want to jeopardise the deal, they need to act very soon and De Jong's move to Barcelona has made their negotiations so much harder.
Barcelona are making a conscious effort to build for the future and signing De Ligt would be a massive step in the right direction.
Their could be a strong Dutch presence at the Nou Camp next season and based on current evidence, that means Barcelona fans have a lot to look forward to.
