Kurt Angle's farewell tour is now in full swing as we count down the days until his final match as a professional wrestler.A few weeks ago, Angle addressed his in-ring future, and subsequently announced to the WWE Universe that he would be riding off into the subset following WrestleMania 35 on April 7.But there was some disappointment as Angle took to the ring this week as he revealed his 'Mania opponent - Baron Corbin.Angle stated he wanted to go out on a high and would like for nothing more than to defeat the man that made 'his life hell' as the General Manager of Raw, despite defeating him back in December. The live audience in Chicago were noticeably unhappy, perhaps because they were expecting someone else, but Angle went on to have a match with Chad Gable, defeating the former Olympic wrestler with an Ankle Lock.

Later on in the night, Michael Cole mentioned the fact that many WWE fans had voiced their displeasure over Corbin being selected as Angle's final opponent, so that raised some suspicions as to whether or not something bigger was being planned.

And some sections of the crowd were very vocal on who they wanted Angle to really say when he was revealing his opponent - John Cena.

Cena of course debuted in WWE way back in 2002 against Angle on SmackDown and the rivalry would come full circle if the two were to face off for the final time at Metlife Stadium.

That could potentially still happen though as WrestleVotes broke some news earlier today.

According to the reputable Twitter account, WWE did not expect the backlash they had gotten in regards to the match, and are now 'reconsidering' their options as they don't want Angle to retire on a negative note.

It certainly puts to bed any rumours that it was leading to a bigger-name opponent all along, but if WWE really are going to change the match in the coming weeks, Cena may get the call if his filming schedule allows him to return to his 'home'.
