Adam Johnson was released from prison in the early hours of Friday morning.The disgraced ex-footballer was picked up by his father in a Mercedes people carrier with blacked-out rear windows, having served three years for child sex offences.Johnson, who was being held at HMP Moorland in South Yorkshire, was sentenced to six years for engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan in 2016.His release on Friday marks exactly halfway through his sentence.The vehicle that drove the former England international away from HMP Moorland was later spotted arriving at his mansion in Castle Eden, County Durham.The 31-year-old admitted to kissing a 15-year-old fan but denied her claim that he touched her inside her pants and that she performed oral sex on him.He was found guilty by a jury of sexual activity with a child in relation to ‘digital penetration’, but was cleared of the same offence with regards to the oral sex.

According to the Daily Mail, Johnson will have a hard time getting back into football.

The newspaper contacted all League One and League Two clubs within a daily commute of the former Sunderland and Manchester City player’s home, and not one said they would consider speaking to him.
