Raheem Sterling starred in England's 5-0 win against the Czech Republic on Friday night. The Manchester City forward scored a hat-trick as The Three Lions made a perfect start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. His first came after 23 minutes when he stretched to get on the end of a Jadon Sancho cross. Sterling netted his second soon after the break, picking up the ball inside the box with his back to goal, before spinning around and curling his finish past Jiri Pavlenka. There was a bit of luck involved for his third though. The 24-year-old took possession on the edge of the area and let fly with a long-range effort.

His shot took a wicked deflection and completely wrong-footed the goalkeeper before dropping into the net.

A penalty from Harry Kane and an own goal from Tomas Kalas capped off the 5-0 demolition, but there was no denying that Sterling was the star of the show.

The forward also made it clear just how much playing for England means to him, as he celebrated each of his strikes with great passion.

But it was the tribute Sterling paid after his second goal that caught the attention of many fans.

While reeling away towards the stands, he lifted his top and revealed a commemorative shirt paying tribute to Damary Dawkins, a schoolboy who passed away on Sunday.

The 13-year-old died after a battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which Sterling made a huge effort on social media to help him with, by appealing for stem cell donors to help.

Sadly Damary, who was a Crystal Palace academy, lost his battle six days ago.

Sterling explained his decision to wear the shirt, which had the words 'May your soul rest in peace' written on, at full-time.

"Damary was a kid I was trying to help. We thought we found a donor and unfortunately it didn't match and he sadly passed away," he told ITV.

"So I thought I had to do something for the family, give them something to smile about."

It was truly a classy gesture from the England hero, who once again proved he's brilliant both on and off the pitch.
