Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are set to meet in February 2020 in the hotly anticipated rematch, according to Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum.

Arum has ruled out any chance of a meeting in 2019, but insists Fury is ready to face Wilder next February.

Talk surrounding the two heavyweights’ next clash has been relentless, as the pair battled to a memorable, but controversial, draw in December 2018 - a fight which produced one of the most unbelievable moments of 2018 with ‘The Gypsy King’ rising off the canvas after seemingly being knocked clean out.

Fans will have to wait at least 11 months to see anything like it again, though, as Arum has said both boxers will have interim fights before they face off again.

“Assuming he (Fury) wins this fight, he'll have another appearance in the United States.

“Then hopefully next year in February he'll end up fighting Wilder. Their idea is to have Wilder fight twice on their platform and then to get together a do a PPV fight.”

Fury is set to fight relatively unknown undefeated German heavyweight Tom Schwarz, according to reports.

Twenty four-year-old Schwarz stands at 6 foot 5 and has an unblemished 24-0 record, mostly fighting in his home country.

This is following Fury signing a new deal with Top Rank, a US promotion, making the switch from BT to ESPN.

Meanwhile, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ faces Dominic Breazeale in his WBC heavyweight title defence on May 18 in New York.

Both fighters will be expected to win their bouts, setting up the rematch to take place.

Originally, fans had been concerned about Fury and Wilder being signed onto rival promotions - it could have meant a fight would never happen due to broadcasting issues, but Arum is confident otherwise.

“It may well be that Wilder also has a network involved. They may want to share the distribution in some way with ESPN and that is something we've done before.”

We hope it works out as Arum says. Another historic bout between the two heavyweights would surely produce a winner, with many in Fury’s camp feeling aggrieved he didn’t win in LA last year.
