The upcoming summer transfer window could prove decisive in Manchester United's quest to regain the Premier League title.

Noisy neighbours Manchester City and Liverpool are currently the two top dogs, with United embroiled in a battle for top four.

However, even a fight for Champions League football next season looked unlikely under Jose Mourinho back in December.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in and steadied the ship, but there's still a lot of work to be done in the Premier League if they are to beat Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea to third or fourth.

Two defeats in United's last two games has made it clear once again that the squad does need a revamp.

There's simply too much deadwood lingering around at the club, while the options in defence and midfield are still not up to scratch.

As such, Solskjaer - who is set to land the job on a permanent basis - has told United to hand him constant updates on three players from Portugal.

According to the Mirror, the Norwegian is eyeing up a £250m spending spree for three of the countries brightest young stars.

We reported on Friday of United's interest in Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.

And now, two more Portuguese stars have been added to the list in the form of Benfica duo Ruben Dias and Joao Felix.

The latter has been in the headlines recently after being linked with a £105m move to Man City - that amount is Felix's rumoured buy-out clause.

Dias has been impressing at centre-half all season with Benfica and is rumoured to be available for around £50m.

Fernandes' reported cost would be around £95m after scoring 13 goals and recording 10 assists in Liga NoS alone this season.

A bit of Portuguese flavour appears to be heading to Old Trafford this summer.
