Juventus fans will understandably have had their hearts in their mouths last night watching Portugal host Serbia.Top scorer and talisman Cristiano Ronaldo went down with no around him clutching the back of his leg.The 34-year-old then signalled to the bench that he needed to come off with an apparent hamstring injury.

As any fan of the game will know, hamstring injuries usually rule most players out for a minimum of a month.

If that were the case with Ronaldo, he would miss Juve's Champions League quarter-final tie against Ajax.

Missing a game in Europe's premiere competition - one that Ronaldo has made his own - would be a devastating blow for the Portuguese.

However, he is confident that the injury will be nothing but a minor issue for him and expects his body to recover in two weeks or less.

Ronaldo told reporters after the 1-1 draw with Serbia: "My injury? I'm not worried. I know my body and in two weeks' time I'll be ready to play again."

If Ronaldo's self-diagnosis is correct, he could even make Juve's first-leg against Ajax.

Portugal's international break was certainly not one to remember despite Ronaldo returning to the side for the first time since the World Cup.

Fernando Santos' side drew 0-0 with Ukraine in their first game and couldn't secure three points against Serbia despite dominating the game.

Dusan Tadic scored the opening goal for the visitors, before Danilo Pereira's stunning equaliser, which can you view by clicking HERE.

Portugal will be looking to retain the Euros after their victory in 2016, but they currently trail Ukraine and Luxembourg in the group standings after two rounds of games.

Will the tournament be Ronaldo's last one in a Portugal shirt? He'll be nearing 36 by the time Euro 2020 rolls around, but you still wouldn't bet against him turning out at the 2022 World Cup...
