It's highly unlikely that Barcelona will ever possess a better passing trio than Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi.
From 2004 - when Messi made his debut - to 2015 - when Xavi left Barcelona - they utterly dominated in the middle of the park with their vision and telepathic link-up play.
They were at the peak of their powers during Pep Guardiola's reign. Iniesta and Xavi would one-two their way through midfield while Messi would drop deep to get involved.
Simply put, the Barcelona trio were unplayable and what made it worse for opponents was that they were all fantastic at dribbling. Dispossessing them was nigh-on impossible.
Frank Lampard said it best in 2017 when he claimed going to the Camp Nou and trying to get near Xavi and Iniesta was "very tough".

"If you look in Europe, I'd have to say Xavi and Iniesta," was the Chelsea legend's response when asked for his toughest ever opponent.
"I think going to the Camp Nou and attempting to get near them for 90 minutes was very tough. They were absolute naturals on the ball."
In the 11 years that Xavi, Iniesta and Messi played together at Barcelona, they won seven La Liga titles, the Champions League four times and three Copa del Reys.
Barcelona's teams from 2009, 2011 and 2015 are all considered among the greatest to have ever played football and the three constants in each side were Xavi, Iniesta and Messi.
They were incredible together and now a video has emerged showing some of their best one-touch passing moves. Check it out.
The scariest thing about Xavi, Iniesta and Messi's link-up play is that they made it look so easy, but in a split second were capable of tearing apart a midfield or defence.
The best trio in football history.
