Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are widely regarded as the two standout players of their generation.

The pair spent almost a decade going head-to-head in La Liga while featuring for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Their rivalry has cooled this season though, as Ronaldo swapped Los Blancos for Juventus, ending their domestic battle.

The two are so good, that anyone who has had the privilege of calling either Messi or Ronaldo a teammate will often name them as the best player they've shared a pitch with.

But apparently, Kevin Prince Boateng, who's recently moved to Barca, is an exception to that statement.

While doing a Q&A on the club's official Facebook page, he was asked to name the best footballer he's played with.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic," Boateng replied.

The midfielder's answer came as quite a surprise, considering that he's been at the Nou Camp working with Messi for a couple of months.

But, Boateng did play with Ibrahimovic while the striker was in his prime at AC Milan.

In two seasons for Milan, the Swede scored an impressive 42 goals in 61 Serie A games to help fire his team to the title - a feat that clearly impressed Boateng.

As well as naming Ibra as his best teammate, the Ghanaian also answered a number of other questions during the Q&A.

Despite shunning Messi as his top teammate, he did describe playing alongside the Argentine as a 'dream' and also named Rivaldo as his footballing idol growing up.

He was also asked for his opinion on the greatest of all time and answered 'Price-Boateng' - which drew laughter from the interviewee.

Check out the full Q&A below.

So, we can put Boateng into a category of footballers that rate someone other than Ronaldo as a better teammate than Messi - which is quite rare.

And declaring himself as the GOAT is sure to raise some eyebrows too.
