Germany is upholding its reputation as a hotbed of future stars

The Bundesliga is last but far from least in our series looking at the best teenage XIs across the top five European leagues.

England, Spain, Italy and France have serious talent within their ranks, but none compare to the prodigies being nurtured in Germany.

This XI is incredibly strong in every position, with plenty of superb youngsters unfortunate to miss out.

Boasting a brilliant midfield duo to link up a formidable defence and lethal front three, the team is hard to find fault with.

Here is our best XI of teenagers currently playing in the Bundesliga.

GK: LUCA PLOGMANN

Germany has long been a reliable source of brilliant goalkeepers, and Werder Bremen’s Luca Plogmann - who made his Bundesliga debut in September - should be worth watching out for in years to come.

RWB: LOUIS BEYER

Louis Beyer has barely put a foot wrong in his seven appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach this season, providing stiff competition for the more experienced right-back Michael Lang.

CB: IBRAHIMA KONATE

Ibrahima Konate has been the steadiest of rocks in the tightest Bundesliga defence to date this season, helping RB Leipzig to third in the table after 26 matches.

CB: EVAN NDICKA

Similarly, Evan Ndicka has been vital in helping Eintracht Frankfurt cut their number of goals conceded from 45 in 34 matches last term to 30 in 26 matches so far this time around.

CB: OZAN KABAK

Ozan Kabak has looked composed and formidable in equal measure during each of his eight appearances since Stuttgart paid €11 million to sign him from Galatasaray in January.

LWB: DAN-AXEL ZAGADOU

Arguably the best centre-back in Germany this season, Borussia Dortmund’s Dan-Axel Zagadou will be forced to utilise his versatility and play left-back for this team to cover for a lack of natural alternatives.

CM: MICKAEL CUISANCE

Mickael Cuisance played in a remarkable 24 Bundesliga matches for Borussia Monchengladbach last season, and while his contribution has been reduced to nine outings this term, his talent remains undeniable.

CM: KAI HAVERTZ

Kai Havertz has played more minutes than any other teenage midfielder in the Bundesliga, racking up a club-high ten goals and three assists from 26 appearances.

RW: JADON SANCHO

With nine goals, 13 assists and countless highlights in just his second top-flight season, Jadon Sancho has almost single-handedly proven young English players can succeed abroad.

LW: REISS NELSON

In a similar fashion, Reiss Nelson has enhanced his first-team prospects at Arsenal no end with six goals during his season-long loan at Hoffenheim.

ST: MATHEUS CUNHA

Matheus Cunha faces a tough battle to dislodge Yussuf Poulsen or Timo Werner from the two RB Leipzig striker positions this term, but his five goals have certainly won him plenty of admirers.
