Football fans are already missing watching Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do battle in El Clasico.
La Liga just hasn’t been the same since Cristiano’s move to Juventus last summer.
Barca have already sewn up the title, while Messi is 11 goals clear in the race for the Pichichi trophy.
Of course, the pair could yet meet in the Champions League with Barcelona and Juventus both through to the quarter-finals - although they can’t face each other until the final now.
While that would be an incredible occasion, it’s not the same as Messi and Ronaldo going head-to-head with Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
And it’s not just football fans that miss it, it seems.
That’s because Messi himself has admitted that he misses having Ronaldo in La Liga.
“I miss Cristiano in Spain. It was nice to have him - although it was difficult to see him lift titles. It would have been nice to still have him here," Messi said in an interview with Argentine radio Radio 94.7 Club Octubre, per Marca.
Ah, how cute.
Messi was also asked about the prospect of facing Ronaldo and Juve in the Champions League final in Madrid come 1 June.
“I have a lot of respect for Juventus. They are a great team and even more with Cristiano. Hopefully, we get to the final and after that, what happens, happens," Messi added.
Without Ronaldo, Real have gone through two managers and sit 12 points behind Barca in the league.
They’ve also crashed out of both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s hat-trick against Atletico Madrid sent Juve through to the quarter-finals of the competitions as he attempts to win his sixth European Cup.News Now - Sport News
