WrestleMania 35 will make history as the triple threat between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair main event will be the first ever women's match in WWE history to main event the Showcase of the Immortals.

However, another twist was added to the story this Tuesday on SmackDown Live, as The Queen defeated Asuka and captured the SmackDown Women's Championship on the show.

This has lead to speculation that the triple threat match at WrestleMania could, in fact, be a unification match for the titles, with the winner taking both the Raw and SmackDown women's titles.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Cageside Seats, this isn't going to be the direction which WWE will go in for the match.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that the idea isn’t to merge the titles. Instead, WWE will likely announce that whoever gets pinned loses their title, whether it be Rousey with the Raw title or Charlotte with the SmackDown title.

Dave Meltzer also added that it's unlikely that one woman would walk out of WrestleMania with both championships because they want each brand, Raw and SmackDown, to have its own champion.

It's been known for a while that Rowdy hasn't been advertised for any WWE shows after WrestleMania. She's expected to take some time off away from the company until later this year at the earliest.

Therefore, it is likely that The Man pins Rousey and becomes the new Raw Women's Champion at WrestleMania, leaving The Queen to lose the match but to also remain as SmackDown Women's Champion.

This booking path fits WWE's desire to have a champion on both Raw and SmackDown, as well as to not have a superstar hold both titles.

One other interesting tidbit that could indicate how WrestleMania's main event will go is WWE's preview for Raw this week and their description of the upcoming six-women tag team match of Rousey, Lynch, and Flair vs The Riott Squad.

They stated on their website: “If Rousey, Lynch or Flair betray either of their teammates, they will be removed from the Raw Women’s Title main event of this year’s Show of Shows.”

This could indicate that Flair might break the rules and be eliminated from the WrestleMania main event so that she can defend the SmackDown Women's title on the show, but this is unlikely to happen.

However, as hard as it is to believe WWE would change their main event for WrestleMania this close to the event, never say never.
