To say Alejandro Pozuelo enjoyed an impressive Toronto FC would be an understatement.Premier League fans will probably remember the Spaniard from his brief spell with Swansea City, spending just one season in south Wales and scoring two goals in 36 appearances. He's arguably never reached the heights expected of him throughout his career and recently ended a four-year spell with Genk that had followed time with Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis. However, he laid down a real statement of intent with his first outing in Major League Soccer, starring during an impressive 4-0 win over New York City FC.Jozy Altidore opened the scoring after just 29 minutes and Jay Chapman put the game to bed during the closing stages, but it was two goals from Pozuelo in between that really caught the eye.

Toronto FC 4-0 New York City FC

That's because he scored not one, but two chipped goals against Sean Johnson between the sticks for NYCFC.

The opening strike came in the second-half and via the penalty spot, with the 27-year-old deciding to opt for the 'Panenka' technique and chip the ball straight down the middle.

It worked an absolute treat, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and finding the net with such a slow loft that Sergio Ramos would be proud of.

He then proceeded to go one better in the 78th minute when he used the scoop lob technique that he had already employed to deceive a defender earlier in the game.

With two New York defenders standing up to him in the penalty area, Pozuelo remarkably scooped the ball almost vertically into the air as Johnson back-pedalled towards his line.

However, the visiting 'keeper was left clutching at thin air as Pozuelo weighted the chip perfectly and bagged his second goal of the game.

Take a look at the goal down below as well as his penalty and highlights:

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is an impressive debut.

His second strike will unquestionably go down as one of the biggest chipped goals of the season and could line him up for an MLS award when the campaign comes to a close.

Pozuelo isn't renowned for his regular goalscoring, but such an impressive start to life in Canada could see him dispel that reputation and go on to achieve the greatest stint of his career.

Even if his time in the MLS crashes and burns, though, it will be tough to remove his New York strike from goal compilations to come.

According to SportsNet Canada, the man himself remarked after the game: “It was a magical night. It will be impossible to forget this night!"

As for poor Johnson, he might want to stay a little closer to his line in the future.
