Manchester United's season has been one hell of a roller coaster to say the least.

Things did not get off to a good start under Jose Mourinho and by Christmas, United were sitting sixth position a massive 19 points off of the league leaders at the time, Liverpool.

Now United - despite only moving position up in the table to fifth - are looking much better and more aesthetically pleasing under new permanent boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has won 14 of his 19 games in charge and yet still faces a tough task to reach the top four, with Arsenal two points ahead of United at this present moment.

The Manchester Evening News wanted to hear what the fans had to say about this season as a whole in the form of player ratings.

Each member of the 25-man Premier League squad was given an average rating out of 10 created by fans and it really gives an indication as to who has upped their stock and who has dropped off.

Considering the sudden change in form after Christmas, it was going to be hard to pick a rating for each player.

Marcus Rashford topped the list with a rating of 7.9 narrowly beating newfound fan favourite Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw who scored a 7.8.

Big names Paul Pogba and David de Gea came joint third with 7.5, whilst cult-hero Ander Herrera came a deserved fourth place with 7.3

Nearer the bottom, Alexis Sanchez - who has noticably struggled since joining the club - scored a measly 2.8, showing that fans have grown tired of waiting for a career resurgence from the Chilean.

Romelu Lukaku came mid-table with a 6.6, as well as Jesse Lingard and Chris Smalling who scored 6.7 and 6.4 respectively.
