Fresh from his bizarre win on Saturday night, David Price is already planning his next move in the ring.

The Liverpudlian heavyweight won an all-British affair in unusual circumstances at the weekend as he was handed the victory after being bitten by opponent Kash Ali.

The fight, which left fans bewildered at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, extended Price's record to 24 wins and six defeats and saw Ali lose for the first time in his 16-fight career.

In addition to the defeat, Ali has had his boxing licence suspended pending a hearing and his fight purse withdrawn following the bite.

Price has also stated that he has turned down Ali's offer of a rematch. Instead, it looks as if the Brit has his sights on a much bigger prize.

Despite not fighting since his defeat to Anthony Joshua in April 2017, Ukrainian legend Wladmir Klitschko is reported to be on the verge of a sensational return to boxing.

Yesterday, a sensational report claimed ‘Dr Steelhammer’ had agreed a $120million three-fight deal with DAZN and will be back on May 25 at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine.

However, that later turned out to be an April Fool's Day prank.

When asked by H&J on talkSPORT about Klitschko’s need for an opponent, Price stated enthusiastically: “I’d love that, that’d be great, wouldn’t it?

“Look, I’m world famous now, aren’t I? Because of the bite!

“You know, he’s probably looking for a bit of an easy one to come back Wladimir, so I’d definitely love the opportunity for that.”

“It’s exciting,” Price continued, “It’s great for the division, because in his fight with Anthony Joshua two years ago, he still looked really good I thought.

“He’s gonna come back and have something to say in the top end of the division for sure.”

Price may well still struggle to lure a name as big as Klitschko, but there's no doubt that he is at least on the map after the strange circumstances of his win on Saturday.
