Anthony Joshua has revealed his sparring partner as he prepares for his upcoming fight against Jarrell Miller.

AJ will be making his United States bow at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1.

And the man chosen to face off against the WBA, IBF and WBO World Champion during his training camp is amateur British heavyweight Solomon Dacres.

Dacres is a GB boxing amateur who has been already been working alongside the more illustrious Joshua at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

He has had some success himself in the boxing world, although not on the same level.

He took home the gold medal at the 2017 England Boxing Elite National Championships, following in the footsteps of AJ himself, who was victorious at the same event in both 2010 and 2011.

The amateur also has a couple of notable fights on his growing amateur record as well, including a defeat to unbeaten British fighter Daniel Dubois and a victory against the Romanian Mihai Nistor, who is best known for defeating Joshua himself at the 39th European Amateur Boxing Championships eight years ago.

He is currently competing in the WSB (World Series Boxing), which is a semi-professional competition that is set up to help amateur fighters find their way into the professional side of the sport.

This is not the first time that Dacres has teamed up with Joshua.

He was also AJ's sparring partner in the build-up to his second-last fight, which was against New Zealander Joseph Parker. Joshua won on points, the first time in his career that he had been unable to knock one of his opponents out.

In his bout against Miller, Joshua is the clear favourite to come out on top. Should he do so, he will then have his eyes on the biggest names in the division, including Deontay Wilder, as he looks to become the undisputed and unified Champion of the World.
