Paul Pogba caused alarm last month when he said a move to Real Madrid would be a 'dream'.

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said Pogba, per talkSPORT.

“There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football.

“For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.”

Naturally, almost immediately after those comments, multiple outlets reported that Real Madrid were interested in buying Pogba in the summer.

Zinedine Zidane is expected to be backed in the summer transfer market and the club would likely have the financial power to fund a move for Pogba.

Zidane even said on the weekend that he 'likes Pogba a lot.'

“I like Pogba a lot,” Zidane said, per the Independent. “That is not something new. I know him personally, he's different and he gives you something different that very few players can offer.

“If when his experience at United is over and he wants to come why would he not come to Madrid?”

But, what is Pogba's preference? Does he actually want to move to Real Madrid, or will he extend his stay at Manchester United?

The Sun have reported that Pogba is 'flattered by the prospect of moving to Madrid'.

Man United want to do everything in their power to keep Pogba and want to sit down with the Frenchman to discuss a new contract.

But he will not come cheap.

The report adds that Pogba wants an eye-watering £500,000-per-week to extend his contract with the English club.

That would be a dramatic increase from the £300,000-per-week he currently earns and would put him on par with Alexis Sanchez as the highest paid player at the club.

And Mino Raiola is aware that his player is in high demand and will push United all the way when negotiations begin.

The report doesn't say whether Pogba will pursue a move away if his demands aren't met but, it's likely that it won't go down well with the Frenchman if talks don't go as planned.
