Kurt Angle says John Cena will have a WrestleMania 35 match

Kurt Angle will have his final ever WWE match this Sunday at WrestleMania 35, and his last ever opponent inside the squared circle will be Baron Corbin.

Angle's rivalry with Corbin stretches back to when The Lone Wolf replaced The Olympic Hero as Monday Night Raw's general manager, so while there's legitimacy to the match taking place, many WWE fans had another opponent in mind.

Many members of the WWE Universe had been hoping that John Cena would be Kurt's final WWE opponent at WrestleMania, but it currently appears that won't be the case.

Despite not facing Angle, and although WWE hasn't confirmed it, Cena will have a match at this year's Showcase of the Immortals.

During a recent interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, The Olympic Hero stated that the 16-time world champion was the opponent he wanted to face at WrestleMania, but it didn't work out. He also stated Cena will have a match at 'Mania this Sunday.

He said: "Yeah, I was hoping it was going to be John but it didn't happen. I'm sure that he has another match in mind, but I wanted him to end my career just like when he started, I started his career. It was a good little storyline but unfortunately it's not going to work out.

"But I love John, and I know he will have a WrestleMania match. I'm not sure if they announced it yet, but I'm almost positive he's going to be there."

Many fans expected Cena would be involved at WrestleMania in some capacity, as there are several superstars who could face The Leader of the Cenation.

There have been rumours he could interrupt and have a match vs Elias, have another match vs The Undertaker, or WWE could possibly pull a swerve and have him wrestle against Angle.

Another possible opponent for the 16-time world champion could be Samoa Joe, especially if Rey Mysterio is unable to compete due to his ankle injury. Joe vs Cena was heavily rumoured for The Showcase of the Immortals for months before Joe vs Mysterio was confirmed.

It looks like Cena will have a match at WrestleMania if Angle is telling the truth, but his opponent for the show is still a mystery.
