Eden Hazard to Real Madrid has to be one of the longest-running transfer rumours there has been.

The magical Belgian’s name is never far away from a headline suggesting he is on his way to Spain but as of now, he remains a Chelsea player.

The Stamford Bridge side will be desperate to ensure that remains the case but it is beginning to look less and less likely with each passing day.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has repeatedly stated his admiration for Chelsea’s talisman and it is a well-known fact that the Spanish super club tends to get what they want.

Replacing Hazard could prove to be dreadfully tricky for the London side but he would undoubtedly slide right into Zidane’s side, with the Frenchman looking to overhaul his ageing squad.

Now, reports are emerging from Spain that a deal for Hazard is very much on the cards, with Marca reporting that a deal is basically done between the player’s representatives and the two clubs.

According to Marca, Hazard is close to completing a deal that will see him move to the Bernebeau for six seasons with Zidane himself having approved the transfer last week.

There is no reports on a price just yet, but you can imagine it’s going to be astronomical for a player that Chelsea would be loathe to let go of.

However, if Marca are to be believed, Hazard’s mind is seemingly made up and if anyone can splash the kind of cash that will be needed to force Chelsea’s hand, it's Madrid.

After what has been a dreadful season by their own very high standards, Madrid are in desperate need of fresh faces within their squad and Hazard could be just the man they need to get back on track.

He will be a big miss in the Premier League but has exactly what it takes to absolutely tear it up in Spain.
