Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. The three women that are going to make history on Sunday night at WrestleMania 35 by competing in the main event in a winner takes all match.

The Queen puts her SmackDown Women's Championship on the line, The Baddest Woman on the Planet brings Monday Night RAW's version of the title to the table while The Man will look to leave New York with both of the belts.

TRIPLE THREAT

That leaves Asuka as the odd woman out.

One year earlier, it was widely speculated that WWE was going to build towards The Empress vs. Rousey at WrestleMania.

That quickly changed to Charlotte before Lynch's surge in popularity.

Asuka instead dropped the championship just weeks before WrestleMania in what has proven to be a downward spiral for her career for the past year.

One suggestion fans online had was to make it a Fatal 4-Way, something Charlotte doesn't think is needed.

When speaking to Sporting News, Charlotte explained that Asuka missing out isn't a bad thing as it gives both of them the opportunity to explore their feud further down the line.

MISSING OUT

According to WrestlingNews.co, she said: "Here’s the thing, last year, when I wrestled Asuka to break her streak at WrestleMania 34, all I could think about is making her proud. I mean, she’s wrestled all over the world.

"She had this incredible streak that no one had seen in the history of the business. So, for me, wrestling her … everyone had so much hype for this match, so it was really living up to the expectations and cementing my legacy.

"And then, obviously, having the title match out of nowhere with her [on SmackDown last month], in my opinion, will only open up more doors for people to see the magic that Asuka and I could make and that’s the bigger picture.

"People will regard [Asuka’s omission from the main event] as a negative, but no. This is a story. People want better. This just has the opportunity just to get better for people to see just how much further Asuka and I could take each other in the ring and entertainment-wise.

"There’s no other woman that I’d rather do that with than Asuka because people have already seen us have two - well, three now - matches and I know what we could do."

Fans will now wonder what role Asuka will have at WrestleMania while visualising what a match between all four women would have been like.
