Real Madrid came from behind to beat Eibar 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon. Los Blancos went 1-0 down in the first-half as Marc Cardona cooly chipped the ball over Keylor Navas before Karim Benzema scored two headers to turn the game around. The result means Real are now 10 points off Barcelona who top La Liga, having played 31 games. Despite picking up three points, Madrid really struggled against mid-table opposition and were spared embarrassment by their French striker, who scored the winner with nine minutes left. For a team that has won three Champions League titles back-to-back, scraping past Eibar at home is far from an impressive result.

The underwhelming campaign has taken a toll on Blancos supporters and that was clear to see on Saturday.

The official attendance at the Bernabeu for Real's win against Eibar was 50,284. For a stadium that holds over 80,000, that's very poor.

Just look at how many empty seats there are, both ahead of kickoff and throughout the game.

That's quite embarrassing - but it's actually not the lowest attendance Real have had this season.

Back in August, in their first home game of the season, only 48,446 supporters turned up - which was a 10-year low.

Hilariously, that number was blamed on many Spanish fans being on their summer holidays when the fixture was played.

Against Huesca last weekend it wasn't much better. Only 49,293 people were in attendance, meaning Saturday's clash with Eibar was Real's third-lowest home attendance of the season.

It's certainly worrying that the club as big as Real are struggling to get anywhere near close to capacity. But there could be a number of factors contributing to that.

The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't helped - as he's a player that draws huge attention wherever he goes.

But of course, the main reason Real are struggling to fill the Bernabeu is because of their poor performances this season.

It's no surprise that fans don't want to spend their money on watching Zidane's team in their final few 'dead-rubber' La Liga games - because they've been disappointing throughout the campaign.
