For many football fans, it's still hard to believe that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is plying his trade at Paris Saint-Germain.Considering the striker was fresh from being relegated with Stoke City and PSG boast forwards like Neymar and Edinson Cavani, it was certainly a transfer that raised eyebrows.Nevertheless, Choupo-Moting is a decent finisher on his day and you can't exactly blame him for grabbing the opportunity to move to the Parc des Princes with both hands. And although chances have been limited in the first team this season, he was selected to start for PSG's league clash with Strasbourg this weekend. If Thomas Tuchel's men won the game, they would regain their status as French champions and take home the Ligue 1 title.

PSG vs Strasbourg

Things starts perfectly for Choupo-Moting, too, as he found the net during the early exchanges and bagged just his third goal since his Stoke exit.

However, from that point on, things started to go downhill for PSG as goals from Nuno da Costa and Anthony Goncalves flipped the game on its head.

Choupo-Moting's horror miss

Not only that, but Choupo-Moting bottled a golden opportunity to bag his second goal of the game and we really can't stress the word 'golden' enough.

That's because the 30-year-old arguably produced the worst miss in footballing history, somehow managing not to score from such close range that goal-line technology was needed.

In fact, it was so terrible that it could have been mistaken for a last ditch clearance.

Frankly, words can't do the miss justice - so check out the clip below:

The worst miss in history?

Your eyes aren't deceiving you, he genuinely missed that.

The miss sparked a rather bemused reaction from Kylian Mbappe on the touchline and it was implied by the television broadcast that PSG players blanked the forward at half-time.

The fact of the matter is, the miss is so terrible that Choupo-Moting will probably be watching clips of the gaffe for the rest of his career.

He will go down in the football history books with the likes of Ronnie Rosenthal, Chris Iwelumo, Yakubu and Fernando Torres, who have produced similarly awful misses.

As far as we're concerned, though, Choupo-Moting has only gone and topped them all.
