Paris Saint-Germain have failed to clinch the Ligue 1 title tonight after a 2-2 draw with Strasbourg.

Thomas Tuchel's side will now have to wait until next Sunday's game away at Lille to seal their sixth title in seven years.

Lille's 1-1 draw with State Reims early in the day actually gave PSG the chance to seal the title, but Tuchel still opted against starting top scorer Kylian Mbappe.

But they didn't need the 27-goal striker to open the scoring, with summer signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opening the scoring just after the 10-minute mark after a inch-perfect cross from Colin Dagba.

The hosts continued to torment Strasbourg's defence shortly after the goal, with Leandro Paredes and Marco Verratti dominating the game in central midfield.

But on 28 minutes, the visitors were level thanks to a well-worked counter, which was expertly finished by Nuno da Costa.

Minutes later, Choupo-Moting then produced the most ridiculous miss you will ever see, bizarrely stopping Christopher Nkunku's chipped effort on the line from an inch out.

The striker was then made to pay for arguably the worst miss in football history as Strasbourg took the lead on 40 minutes thanks to a glorious long-range strike from Anthony Goncalves.

Tuchel was then sent to the stands on 58 minutes for verbally challenging the referee, with Mbappe and Julian Draxler entering the fray shortly after to try and salvage the game.

Draxler then provided the assist for the equaliser, floating in a lovely corner which was powerfully headed home by Thilo Kehrer.

But it wasn't enough for PSG and they will have to wait for the title.
