Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was the talk of Twitter last night during Paris Saint-Germain's 2-2 draw with Strasbourg.Sadly for the meme-like figure that is the Cameroonian forward, he was being laughed at for producing arguably the worst miss in the history of the beautiful game. With the score tied at 1-1 after Nuno da Costa's equaliser for the visitors, PSG were eager to hit back quickly to try and seal the Ligue 1 title.Christopher Nkunku gave it his best shot when he lifted the ball over Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels, but then Choupo-Moting produced his moment that will stay with him forever. With the ball heading over the line, Choupo-Moting bizarrely stopped the ball on line, before proceeding to hit the ball into the post.

Strasbourg then cleared their lines, with goal-line technology even needed to clarify the madness that had occurred.

So what was going through Choupo-Moting's head? Well, he spoke to the press after the game and gave his verdict on the incident.

The former Stoke man said: "I thought Nkunku was going to give it to me, and then I thought the defender was going to take it, then I thought I was offside, I'm sorry about that... We're going to give it all to Lille to win the title."

Clearly the only logical thing to do when you think you're offside is to touch the ball and prevent it from going in...

It's a moment that will haunt Choupo-Moting for the rest of his playing days, with the PSG crowd jeering him when he was brought off for Kylian Mbappe.

PSG will have the chance to secure the Ligue 1 title next weekend when they travel to second-place Lille.

After an eventful night in the French capital last night, we get the feeling Choupo-Moting might be spending that game on the bench.
