Real Madrid are in dire need of reinforcements this summer.

Los Blancos have had one of their worst seasons in recent memory.

They are no longer in the running for the La Liga title and were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.

Zinedine Zidane returned to the club last month but he has mixed success so far.

His side have won three of his first four games in charge but Real have not looked convincing in any of those games.

One of the reasons why he agreed to come back was due to Florentino Perez promising to back him in the transfer market this summer.

It's no secret that Eden Hazard is their priority.

The Belgian winger has declared numerous times that he views a move to Real Madrid as a 'dream'.

With Chelsea struggling this season, it seems almost certain that Hazard wants the transfer.

However, there is a problem.

Chelsea are demanding £100 million for Hazard which, in today's climate, seems a reasonable figure for a player of his calibre.

But, according to the Daily Mail, Madrid are 'adamant' they they will not match that fee.

Instead, they will ask Hazard to force through his dream move.

If Chelsea's director of football, Marina Granovskaia, decides not to budge on the club's asking price, Real want Hazard to make his feelings about a transfer public knowledge.

That's likely not something that will go down well with Chelsea fans.

Thibaut Courtois damaged his relationship with fans of the west London club after forcing a move to Real last summer.

Regardless, both teams still believe the deal will go through before the start of next season.

The report adds that if Hazard does leave, Chelsea hope that persuades Callum Hudson-Odoi to stay.

The 18-year-old is believed to want to leave for first-team football but they will be able to give him much more playing time with Hazard gone.
