Eden Hazard was at his sublime best once again against West Ham on Monday night. The Chelsea talisman ran the Hammers defence ragged for ninety minutes straight, netting a double and helping the Londoners leapfrog Tottenham into third place on the league standings.Hazard was simply unplayable at times, and try as they might, West Ham could not shackle him.His first goal could easily win the goal of the season.Hazard picked the ball up close to the halfway line before turning, winding and slaloming through a glut of opposing defenders and sliding it into the bottom corner.

It is hard to argue that Hazard isn’t the best player in the league after a performance like that, and you can be certain there were a few potential suitors salivating as they watched on.

Talk of a possible move to Real Madrid has been gathering a lot of traction of late with Zinedine Zidane claiming that he is very much an admirer of Hazard.

Spanish media firmly believe that the creative maestro will be a Madrid player next season with reports emerging that a move is close to completion.

Hazard would demand an almighty fee, but if anyone can afford it, it’s Real.

As they watched Hazard single-handedly tear their side to bits, West Ham fans tried their best to remind Chelsea fans that their star could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge soon.

Hammers fans could be heard chanting; “You’re off to Real Madrid” from the away end as they tried to dampen the sparkle of Hazard’s performance.

However, when questioned about those very chants, the 28-year-old gave an emphatic response.

“They are wrong!” he said.

“I’m just focused on this season.”

Music to Stamford Bridge ears.

The Blues will be desperate to keep hold of Hazard and comments like that will certainly bring them hope that it might just be possible.

Perhaps it’s not all as cut and dry as some would want us to believe.
