Manchester City supporters were fearful when Sergio Aguero posed for a photo with Canadian rapper Drake in March. For those who haven’t heard of the Drake Curse, the 32-year-old is seemingly a bad omen for sports teams and players.Whenever Drake has met a sports star or worn a particular team’s gear, unfortunate things seem to have happened to that team. The University of Kentucky and Torono Raptors basketball teams have both fallen victims to the curse. As has Conor McGregor, who had Drake in his corner before losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

So when Aguero met Drake at the Manchester Arena last month, Man City started fearing the worst about their Premier League title bid.

The same fate struck Liverpool when Daniel Sturridge met the rapper during the 2013-14 season, before the Reds’ late collapse saw them saw them miss out on the title by two points.

Arsenal and Dortmund struck by Drake Curse

The list of examples really is something.

And over the weekend, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund became the latest clubs to be cursed by Drake.

Both teams lost shortly after two of their players - Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho - met Drake.

Aubameyang posed with Drake after he performed at the O2 Arena last week.

And England international Sancho met the musician after his gig at the Manchester Arena in March.

And how did both teams get on at the weekend?

On Saturday, Sancho’s Dortmund were thrashed 5-0 by Bayern Munich in their Bundesliga match. Then on Sunday, Aubameyang played for Arsenal in a 1-0 defeat at Everton.

Still doubt the Drake Curse?

He was blamed as the reason for Serena Williams’ shock defeat to Roberta Vinci at the US Open in 2015 after watching the American tennis player in action.

And it wasn't the first time he's apparently been at fault for a team or player losing.

In January, the University of Alabama American football team lost the College Football Playoff National Championship after Drake had posted a video of himself working out in Alabama gear.

So sorry if Drake is seen sporting your team’s gear, or meeting a player from your team.
