Eden Hazard was at the top of his game during Chelsea 2-0 West Ham.

Despite rumours of a move to Real Madrid swirling around, the Belgian was fully focused on securing all three points at Stamford Bridge and put on an absolute masterclass.

Footage of his brilliant opening goal against the Hammers will be played for years and years, with Hazard dancing past five defenders and beating Lukasz Fabianski with ease.

The Chelsea star then added a second strike in the closing seconds of the game and kept his side firmly in the running for Champions League qualification.

Not only that, but his brace in west London elevated his Premier League goal-scoring record above that of Cristiano Ronaldo and across a similar number of appearances, too.

Chelsea 2-0 West Ham

It was a performance that reiterated Hazard's brilliance across the current season, making fans wonder where Chelsea would actually be without him.

Besides, the statistic emerged during the game that Hazard actually has the biggest goals contribution of any player in the Premier League this season.

His total of 12 assists cannot be matched in England's top division and when you throw his 16 strikes into the equation, he occupies first place with ease.

Most goals and assists

Bearing that in mind, we decided to assess who comes closest to usurping Hazard in the rankings when we adds up everyone's respective goals and assists tallies.

While out-and-out goal-scorers like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remain near the top of the list, using these statistics certainly rewards those with a more even spread of contributions.

All that said, take a look at the top ten down below:

1. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) - 28

2. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) - 26

3. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 25

4. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) - 24

5. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) - 22

6. Harry kane (Tottenham) - 21

=7. Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal) - 20

=7. Paul Pogba (Manchester United) - 20

=9. Jamie Vardy (Leicester) - 19

=9. Raul Jimenez (Wolves) - 19

Some interesting findings, to say the very least.

It's intriguing to note that both Salah and Aguero are seriously in the running and that's thanks to their ability to provide assists for their teammates, aside from their own scoring exploits.

Meanwhile, it's perhaps less surprising to see players like Sterling and Pogba rewarded, with both players finding an almost perfect balance between goals and assists.

Then, towards the bottom of the rankings, Vardy and Jimenez are representing clubs outside the top six and have been seriously outperforming their resources this year.

At the end of the day, though, it seems nobody can usurp Hazard and it wouldn't be surprising to see him dominating this statistic when the Premier League comes to a close.

Chelsea fans will just have to hope it isn't his last contribution in English football.
