After not getting their chance at WrestleMania 35, the newly-reformed Hardy Boyz finally got a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.Just six days before the Superstar Shake-up began, it was a chance to change the landscape of the blue brand before WWE rolls into Montreal next week to roll the dice with several stars. For one reason or another, Matt and Jeff Hardy were placed into the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at the Show of Shows instead of in the Fatal Four-Way match for The Usos' tag team hardware. The rumour was that WWE were saving a singles match between the two teams for the planned Saudi Arabia show on May 3, but that has reportedly now been moved to early June.So we ended up getting an impromptu title match on the SmackDown after WrestleMania between two amazing teams, with Jimmy and Jey's fourth reign standing at just under two months. But the writing was on the wall for the Samoan twins when Jeff kicked out of a flying splash from Jey towards the conclusion. There was a shift in dynamic after that, with the Hardy's taking control and after a Twist Of Fate from Matt and Swanton Bomb from Jeff, one of the most decorated tag teams in history were on top of the mountain again.

The reason for the sudden switch could very well be that The Usos are off to Raw in the Shake-up, but at the same time it could be the start of a memorable feud between two great teams.

It wasn't to be the end of Matt and Jeff's night though, as the intimidating Lars Sullivan marched to the ring just one night after laying out Kurt Angle on Raw.

The former NXT star proceeded to destroy the brothers and send a message to his fellow WWE superstars that he wasn't here to mess around.

But being laid out by The Freak won't ruin the euphoria of The Hardyz commencing on their eighth WWE tag title reign.
