However, as he was walking off the pitch, United fans decided to taunt him by chanting about Ronaldo.

Of course, Ronaldo is a fan-favourite at United having spent six seasons there earlier on in his career.

And United fans decided to taunt Messi by singing about his great rival.

Watch the clip below:

The lyrics go: 'Running down the wing, hear United sing, Viva Ronaldo!'.

Messi would probably not have appreciated that.

As for the Portuguese forward, it was a good day for himself as he scored in Juventus' 1-1 draw with Ajax.

Ronaldo was an injury doubt going into the game but he managed to recover in time to start in Holland.

He would break the deadlock late on in the first half as he scored a tremendous diving header.

According to BT Sport, that was the 97th header he has scored in his career.

Incredible.

Ronaldo and Juventus will fancy their chances of progressing to the semi-finals of the Champions League when they meet Ajax in their second leg in Turin next week.
