Ajax were impressive in the Champions League once again last night as they battled to a 1-1 draw at home to Juventus.

As expected, a returning Cristiano Ronaldo made his mark on the first leg of the quarter-final tie, scoring a brilliant diving header.

But rather than letting Ronaldo and co. run away with the tie, Ajax hit back within the opening seconds of the second half.

Joao Cancelo made a costly mistake on the left wing which allowed David Neres to capitalise.

The Brazilian nicked the ball away and drove into the box, before clipping a wonderful finish into the far corner of the net.

The Dutch side managed to keep Juve at bay for the rest of the match, meaning it's all to play for in Turin next week.

Neres will get most of the Ajax plaudits for his stunning goal - and rightly so. But Frenkie de Jong was the man that made his team tick last night.

He's moving on to Barcelona next summer and right now, it seems the Dutchman is going all out to show the world why he deserves that move to the Camp Nou.

Check out his highlights from Wednesday's match, which prove he will be a perfect fit for Barca.

De Jong showed a great range of passing, broke up a few opposition attacks and just generally controlled the game from the middle of the park. All at the age of just 21.

The midfielder was so good that even Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri hailed him after the game.

"Frenkie de Jong is the real source of Ajax's game," Allegri said, per the Daily Mail.

"We tried to control him with Bentancur, but when he understood that, he moved deeper and the forwards had to work hard. He played very well."

It seems Barca made the right decision when they confirmed De Jong's €75 million transfer in January.
