Nobody likes losing on FIFA - especially when it’s against a mate. It’s even worse when the mate in question is a bad winner. You just know you’ll never hear the end of it when they serve you a hammering. This is what happened to Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold while on international duty with England recently. The mate in question was Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling. However, all was not as it seemed.

You see, Alexander-Arnold is usually the one dishing out the batterings - so it made little sense to him that Sterling was suddenly turning on the style with Juventus against his Paris Saint-Germain team.

The 20-year-old became increasingly frustrated as the goals flew in, with Sterling rubbing salt into his wounds at every opportunity.

However, unbeknownst to Alexander-Arnold, Sterling wasn’t actually in control of his FIFA 19 team.

Hidden away in a nearby room was professional FIFA player F2Tekkz, who will be representing England at the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup in London this weekend.

The 17-year-old, who recently won the Premier League title with Liverpool and is considered one of the top gamers in the world, was in control of Sterling’s Juve team and showed no mercy to the Liverpool full-back.

Alexander-Arnold fell for the prank hook, line and sinker and couldn’t hide his irritation after each goal went in.

At one point, he said to Sterling: “I don’t understand - I absolutely slapped you this morning.”

After being mocked by Sterling for the full-time result, F2Tekkz then appeared in the room and it soon dawned on Alexander-Arnold that he’d been the victim of a brilliant prank.

Alexander-Arnold was taken to the room where F2Tekkz was playing from and Sterling couldn’t stop giggling.

In an interview with the FA’s website, F2Tekkz said: “You’re probably wondering how this has all happened? I suppose I was the same as any other kid, just wanting to be a footballer, but then things happened and I ended up turning a pro at FIFA instead!

“I never set out to be a professional gamer, as I said, it was just playing with my mates at first but when it got to the stage that I was beating all of them quite easily, I realised I might be quite good.

“So I just looked into entering a few online tournaments, smaller ones with like £100 prize money for winning.

“I just went for it and managed to win the first one that I ever did. I didn’t know who I was playing at the time, I just went into it and tried to beat everyone. Apparently there were some big players involved and I started to look at trying to qualify for the biggest tournaments.

“I managed to sneak into the first few and I’ve just played well since then, but it was January 2018 when things really started to take off when I went to my first major tournament in Barcelona.

“When I arrived there, I was the underdog. Nobody knew who I was. But I managed to go through with no pressure from anyone else and then I won it, and suddenly people started to know who I was. Since then, everything’s been so hectic and crazy.”

He’s reached nine semi-finals in a row since FIFA 19 was released and has won five tournaments this year alone.

Poor old Trent never stood a chance.
