Kylian Mbappe and Julian Draxler both fumed at the referee in tunnel after Lille 5-1 PSG

Kylian Mbappe wasn't happy with the referee after Lille 5-1 PSG

Paris Saint-Germain spurned the chance to win the Ligue 1 title for the second straight week after being destroyed 5-1 by Lille.

They fell behind after just seven minutes when Thomas Meunier put the ball in his own net.

Juan Bernat equalized shortly after following great work from Kylian Mbappe.

However, that would be as good as it got for PSG.

Bernat was sent off later in the half in controversial circumstances and PSG would capitulate in the second 45 minutes.

Second half goals from Nicolas Pépé, Jonathan Bamba, Gabriel dos Santos Magalhaes and Jose Fonte gave Lille a resounding victory.

It proved to be PSG's heaviest defeat since 2010 and the first time they've conceded five goals since 2000.

The French giants were not happy with the referee as a result of his decision to send off Bernat.

You can view that decision below:

PSG also had two goals from Mbappe correctly chalked off in the first half, which would have wound them up even more.

And after the game a number of PSG players showed their frustration with the referee in the tunnel.

Mbappe could be heard complaining about the referee, saying per French Football News: "This referee takes the Coupe de la Ligue from us, he takes our players from us, he takes everything."

It was a frustrating night for Kylian Mbappe and teammates

Julian Draxler went one step further. He had to be held back while shouting at the referee, per Goal: "We have VAR so why don’t you use it? Explain that to me!"

Qatari owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi could also be heard saying: "We need to raise the level of French football!"

It seems they weren't happy at all.

Mbappe also slammed his side for playing 'like amateurs'.

"You cannot lose in this way. We cannot lack character like that, concede 3, 4, 5 goals – that is not normal," he told Canal+, per the Mirror.

"They are a good team so congratulations to them. They have a fantastic set of fans, a lovely stadium.

Thomas Tuchel watched on as his teammates lost

"But we must play with more personality. That is one of our weaknesses I think, we are going to have to quickly fix that.

"We cannot go over the top either, people are going to talk about the club, I don’t know what else.

"Today we played like amateurs. We need to re-focus, there is a match on Wednesday, but I think we need to stop losing like that.”
