Nike release inspirational advert following Tiger Woods’ Masters success

Nike have posted a moving advert on their official Twitter page after Tiger Woods won his 15th major on Sunday.

Woods’ success marked his return to the top of golf, after winning his first major since 2008 and his first Masters since 2005.

Woods has been through a lot since then, with Nike sticking with him through the difficult times when other sponsors have dropped out.

Their faith has now paid off and they fittingly released a superb video, showing the journey of Woods to this point.

The advert uses a collection of clips from this year’s Masters, Woods at an early stage of his career, and then as a child in order to show the ups and downs he has experienced in the sport.

While showing this, it displays the message: “It’s crazy to think a 43-year-old, who has experienced every high and every low and has just won his 15th major, is chasing the same dream as a 3-year-old.”

The advert then ends with Woods, as a young child, stating the bold claim that he is “gonna beat Jack Nicklaus”.

Woods’ success on Sunday meant that he has now collected 15 majors, with the legendary Nicklaus picking up a record 18.

The 43-year-old spoke of his joy in winning a first major in 11 years, saying that he wasn’t thinking about winning until he found himself in the lead.

“I'm a little hoarse I think from yelling,” Woods joked. “I was just trying to plod my way around the golf course all day, just plod my way around.

“All of a sudden I had the lead, and going down 18 I was just trying to make a 5.”

The American also spoke of the pleasure of having his children there to see his success.

“When the putt went in, I don't know what I did, but I was just trying to find Charlie.

“To have my kids there, it's come full circle. My dad was here in 1997 and now I'm the dad with two kids there.”
