Sunday quickly turned from a nervous day into a special day for Liverpool.

Manchester City's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace meant Jurgen Klopp's men dropped down to second in the Premier League and needed to beat Chelsea to return top.

And that's exactly what they did. Second half goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah - a 25-yard screamer - sealed an important 2-0 win.

Liverpool are top of the table with just four games remaining, though City are two points behind and have a game in hand.

It's going to go down to the wire, yet there's a belief around at Anfield that they can oust City and finally win the Premier League.

Liverpool fans created an incredible atmosphere against Chelsea and Klopp couldn't help but praise them for it after the game.

"It was a fantastic performance, an even better atmosphere and a very, very important result," said the German. "I am so proud of what the boys did today.

"I loved, loved, loved the atmosphere. It was outstanding what the people did - you could feel it, they were all on their toes. Let's try to do that seven more times and then we see what we get for it."

It took Liverpool 51 minutes to break the deadlock on Sunday and when Mane's header hit the back of the net, Anfield erupted.

Salah's wonder strike moments later sparked even louder celebrations, but what was most impressive was the noise Liverpool fans made afterwards.

For a solid two minutes after Salah's goal Liverpool fans chanted "Allez, Allez, Allez" at the top of their lungs. Even the commentator said: "Just listen to this place!"

Wow - when it comes to creating an atmosphere, nothing compares to Anfield.

Liverpool look unbeatable at the moment but they need City to drop points if they're going to be crowned league champions for the first time since 1990.

City still need to play Tottenham away and Manchester United at home in the Premier League, so there's every chance they could slip up.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have four relatively easy games remaining, so all they can do now is keep winning and pray.
