Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were the heroes for Liverpool on Sunday as they beat Chelsea 2-0 to move top of the Premier League.

A goalless first half added to the nerves at Anfield, but in the 51st minute, Mane met Jordan Henderson's cross at the back post to head home.

Five minutes later Salah made it 2-0 with an absolute screamer from 25 yards out to send Liverpool fans absolutely wild.

Victory meant the Reds leapfrogged Manchester City in the table after the Citizens had beaten Crystal Palace in Sunday's early kick-off.

Two points currently separate the top two sides in England with five games remaining, so it's going to go down to the wire.

Most of Liverpool's goals this season have come Mane and Salah, who have 18 and 19 goals respectively in the Premier League so far.

Salah is widely regarded as the better player, yet Jamie Carragher claims he would lose the Egyptian if it came to picking between him and Mane for the title run-in.

Don't believe us? Watch the video below of Carragher and Gary Neville discussing the importance of wingers on Monday Night Football.

Here's how the conversation went, with Neville asking Carragher a question that no Liverpool fan would like to answer right now:

NEVILLE: "If you had to lose one for the run-in, Salah or Mane, who would it be?"

CARRAGHER: "[Long pause] Salah."

NEVILLE: "You'd lose Salah over Mane..."

CARRAGHER: "Well, they've scored the same amount of goals."

NEVILLE: "So you'd keep Mane in?"

CARRAGHER: "I just think... I'm a massive fan of Mane. People talk about Jurgen Klopp and the signing of Salah, unbelievable, Van Dijk.

"Mane's the one that got Liverpool back. He was Klopp's first big signing, £30m. He was the signing that got Liverpool into the top four.

"The next season it was Champions League final. This season it's challenging for the Premier League title. He's been there from the very start.

"If Liverpool or City win the league, a lot of it's going to be down to the wide players. When we challenged you (Manchester United) in 2009, we didn't have that wide player.

"Go through history of the teams who won the title, the wide players stand out massively. If we'd had Mane in that team, we'd have won the league, that was the only thing that was really lacking.

"We only lost two games, got 86 points. If we'd had a player scoring 20 goals from a wide position, it would have been massive."

Very bold from Carragher, who rates Mane so highly that he would rather sacrifice Salah in Liverpool's title run-in.
