Barcelona's 1-0 win against Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie set up an exciting return fixture at the Camp Nou.Despite failing to register a shot on target at Old Trafford, it was United who made a blistering start to the game. Marcus Rashford rattled the crossbar inside 45 seconds before Scott McTominay found space inside the box that he couldn't capitalise on. The visitors were then made to rue those early chances as Lionel Messi struck twice inside the opening 20 minutes. Talk about a false sense of security for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Messi's first was unstoppable as he picked the ball up less than 25-yards from goal, nutmegged Fred and curled his shot past David de Gea. Check out his stunning finish below.

Minutes later, a De Gea howler gifted Messi his second of the evening.

Once again, the Barca's number 10 picked the ball up outside the box and drove towards goal.

His shot wasn't great, but De Gea completely misjudged it and could do nothing to stop the ball rolling underneath his body and into the net.

Barca raced into a 2-0 lead before half-time and with the tie 3-0 on aggregate, it's hard to see a way back for United now.

De Gea did make a brilliant save moments before the break to keep the score at two.

Messi went on another magical run and turned Phil Jones inside out, before rolling the ball to Jordi Alba.

The wing-back sent a wicked ball across the box and Sergi Roberto met it at the back post, only for De Gea to block the tap in.

Tonight though, he will be remembered for the howler and not the impressive save he made a bit later.
