Cristiano Ronaldo will not be winning the Champions League for a forth time in a row.Juventus were many people's favourites to be crowned champions this season but they crashed out of the competition in the quarter-finals at the hands of Ajax. After the first leg in Amsterdam ended 1-1, Ronaldo scored the first goal of the night in Turin to give his side the lead.He powered in his fourth header of the campaign in the 28th minute. However, Juventus would be outplayed by Ajax for the remainder of the match.

It put an end to the 34-year-old's incredible record of reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

Ronaldo had reached the last four of the competition in 11 of the last 12 seasons.

He will now miss the semi-finals for the first time since 2010.

Ronaldo's stats since Real Madrid were knocked out by Lyon in 2010 have been quite incredible.

In the past nine years, Ronaldo has scored 104 goals in as many games, while also recording 28 assists.

He's also won four Champions League titles in that time.

Ronaldo also continued his quite incredible goal-scoring with his head in Turin.

The Portuguese forward scored four headers in the 2018/19 Champions League, more than any team in the competition this season.

Ronaldo will be 35 next year but he will no doubt be eager to win the Champions League for the sixth time in Istanbul.

Max Allegri recognised that Ronaldo had given Juventus 'a lot' in the Champions League this season.

"Ronaldo has given us a lot over the course of the campaign, but when you reach the quarter-final, you need every player," he said, per the Daily Mail.

"I've always said that to win the Champions League, you need to reach a certain stage in good form and with good fitness levels.

"We've been in a bit of an emergency situation for a while and that can only be sustained for so long.

"We were missing four or five players tonight. Daniele Rugani and Leonardo Bonucci had good games for 50 minutes or so, but we lost our unity and organisation, giving Ajax the advantage."
