WWE fans got a special treat at WrestleMania 35 during the finish of the No Holds Barred match of Triple H vs Batista.

Ric Flair made an appearance at The Showcase of Immortals when he showed up at ringside to hand The Game his iconic sledgehammer.

The Nature Boy then provided a distraction to allow Triple H to use the sledgehammer on The Animal, hit a Pedigree, and pick up the pinfall victory.

However, during a recent interview with CBS Sports to promote The Roast of Ric Flair next month at Starrcast II, Flair revealed that he almost didn't make it to the ring at WrestleMania due to Shawn Michaels.

Michaels was at commentary at the time when he saw the 16-time world champion jump the barricade and make his way towards the ring.

Just a day before though during WWE's Hall of Fame induction ceremony, a fan had attacked Bret Hart after jumping into the ring and tackling The Hitman to the ground.

With this in his mind, Flair revealed that Michaels almost delivered a Sweet Chin Music on the 70-year-old at ringside at WrestleMania.

He said when asked whether he would have bumped or bled at age 70 if called upon: “Oh, I had a blade on [me]! Just kidding.

"But you know what Shawn Michaels said to me? They thought another mark was hitting the ring like the night before with Bret Hart [at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony]. Shawn almost had to superkick me from the announce table.”

This wouldn't have been the first time Michaels had delivered a Sweet Chin Music to Flair, as he did exactly that during the 16-time world champion's final match in the WWE before retirement way back at WrestleMania XXIV.

This may have just been a joke by The Nature Boy, but you could imagine the shock horror from HBK if he had superkicked Flair at ringside before realizing it was the WWE legend. Then again, Flair is also a crazy enough man to still take bumps at the age of 70.

You only have to cast your mind back to his 70th birthday celebrations on Monday Night Raw a couple of months ago when he was dragged out of his private room by Batista to know that this is true.
