Brentford will host Dagenham on New Year`s Day hoping to pit Sam Saunders against his former club.

The 27-year-old midfielder made more than 100 appearances for the Daggers in four years, but having been sidelined with a hamstring injury since early December, he has only resumed full training this week.

Manager Andy Scott will continue in charge of the Bees after having talks regarding the vacant managerial post at Sheffield United.

Carl Cort will not feature for Scott`s side as the former Newcastle striker is still recuperating from a torn Achilles tendon.

Another long-term absentee is winger Myles Weston (hamstring) but the former Notts County flyer has stepped up his recovery and could make the bench.

The Bees lost their last home match but go into the clash with John Still`s men on the back of three consecutive npower League One wins.

Dagenham manager John Still will be without two loan signings as his side finally get back to action.

West Brom striker Kayleden Brown has picked up an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature over the New Year period.

Cardiff midfielder Solomon Taiwo's loan has expired so he misses out. However, he is set to sign a new agreement which will last until the end of the season so he should feature against Southampton on Monday.

Striker Gavin Tomlin still has an ankle injury picked up in a training game and will be absent as Still`s men prepare for what they hope will be just their second game in 41 days.
