Barcelona’s decision to set ticket prices for their Champions League semi-final clash against Liverpool at £103 was met with much condemnation. It meant that Liverpool fans hoping to attend the first leg at the Camp Nou were facing a fee of more than £100 to watch the match.Thankfully, Liverpool have since stepped in and charged Barcelona fans the same price for the return leg at Anfield, and will use the extra revenue to subsidise those travelling out to Spain. It means that Liverpool fans will pay £76 for a ticket to watch the game in Barcelona.Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has since defended the exorbitant prices the club sets for Champions League matches.

Manchester United fans were charged £102 for their quarter-final match against the Spanish giants.

But the Blaugrana are now facing more criticism for their stadium access for disabled Liverpool supporters.

Five wheelchair spaces for Liverpool fans

Dan Wakefield, a Liverpool season ticket holder, has called Barcelona out for providing only five wheelchair spaces for the semi-final.

That is despite Liverpool having an allocation of 4,620.

“Disgusted to learn this morning that @FCBarcelona has only provided @LFC with a pitiful 5 wheelchair spaces in an allocation of 4,620 for the CL semi-final,” Mr. Wakefield wrote on Twitter.

“This is totally unacceptable from an institution that prides itself on being more than a club and has a capacity of 100,000.

“This means that LFC's disabled supporters who have attended the last 8 European away games will miss out on a ticket, despite having already paid for their travel costs.

“Both @UEFA and @LFC need to contest this on the strongest possible terms and find a resolution to this.

“It is unacceptable to continue to treat disabled people as an afterthought in society.

“Please retweet to call @FCBarcelona out on this and their contempt and disregard for disabled supporters. @spiritofshankly @david_conn.”

Hopefully a resolution on the matter can be found.
