Wilfried Zaha has had a pretty good season at Crystal Palace this year.

The Ivorian speedster has registered three assists while netting eight goals of his own for the London team.

Unsurprisingly, Zaha has started to turn few heads at some of the game’s big clubs and could be on the move very soon if his wishes are honoured.

One thing that may concern any potential suitors though is Zaha’s failure to cut it at Manchester United earlier in his career.

Zaha was an extremely bright prospect at Old Trafford but never broke into the first team, eventually being shipped out to Cardiff City and eventually Crystal Palace.

However, he has settled in London and is playing some of his best football and now the winger thinks he is ready for Champions League football.

His latest comments to the Daily Mail certainly suggest that Zaha wants out of Palace, but it is highly unlikely that United is his desired destination.

That is because Zaha shed some light on his time at the Red Devils and it does not make for pretty reading.

Zaha claimed that United were doing everything within their power to ‘break him in any possible’ and ‘ruin his career for no reason’.

That doesn’t sound like the ideal environment for a young player to flourish in, does it?

Now however, Zaha has moved on and is determined to make it big in the coming years.

“I’m too ambitious,” he told the Daily Mail. “And not ambitious just to play for a top club, but to win things at club level and with the Ivory Coast.

“For me to be better, to achieve what I know I am capable of, I have to aim to play at the very highest level, to win trophies.

“I’m blessed to have come this far in my playing career. But I feel like there is so much more I have to offer.

“I have to experience the Champions League. I just need the opportunity, that’s it. And I’ll do the rest.”

Zaha certainly has the skill to make it a Champions League club, but does he have the temperament?

Time will tell.
