Paris Saint-Germain's status as Ligue 1 champions was confirmed before they even kicked off against Monaco on Sunday night.  Lille needed to take all three points from their away fixture against Toulouse but only managed a 0-0 draw, which resigns them to a second-place finish at best this season. In reality, the title race has long been over, but PSG's recent run of poor form meant the champagne was kept on ice until this weekend. Sunday's fixture was nothing more than an exhibition as the retaining champions got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win. And Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick against his old club.

The youngster outpaced four defenders to get on the end of a cross for his opening goal which saw him take the ball under control with a brilliant first touch before clipping a finish into the net.

Mbappe refused to celebrate the first goal and only a few high-fives with his teammates followed the second, which saw him sweep a shot past Danijel Subasic from 18 yards out.

In the 55th minute, the 20-year-old completed his hat-trick with a simple tap-in to secure all three points.

His performance will be long remembered by PSG fans and it capped off a brilliant day and a wonderful season for Mbappe.

Against his former club, the forward reached a number of milestones and also wrote himself into the French record books.

Mbappe's hat-trick took him to 30 goals this season and he's become the youngest player in Ligue 1 history to do so.

On top of that, the Frenchman now has a ridiculous 97 career goals and has just won his third consecutive Ligue 1 title, all at the age of just 20.

Mbappe has been on fire all season and if he continues to reach ridiculous milestones next season, he'll surely be holding the Ballon d'Or in the near future.
